MY STORY

I have always loved reading. Have always had my head in a book (or two or three . . . or five). And have always liked things neat and in their place.  I like spoons where the spoons belong, sweaters where the sweaters belong, keys where the keys belong . . . and commas where the commas belong. So it shouldn’t have surprised me when God dropped it in my heart to be a proofreader. But it did.

Late one night I asked Him, “Lord, would You show me skills I don’t even know I have so I can start a business?” At 7:30 the next morning, my daughter, who is never heard from before noon, called me, all excited.

“Mom! I know what you can do! You should be a proofreader!”

I sat there, silent and stunned, as the rightness of what she was saying sunk in.  Of course!

So I embarked on my journey. I enrolled in an excellent proofreading and copyediting training program from Edit Republic.  I bought a new computer and style manuals. I read and read and read. To learn more and to practice. And I am having the time of my life.

And . . . I offer my skills, natural and acquired, to you. I will help you put your masterpiece out to the world just the way you are envisioning it.

For I understand wanting something, especially something of importance, to be “just right.”

MY GOAL
